in a text instruction with note names how can I list pitches like A-natural and B-flat ? A#, Bb, Gn…?
are there shortcuts ?
joakim
Yes!
start with shift X to create your text box
type the regular characters first
place your cursor where you need to insert other characters
then right click and click on INSERT MUSIC TEXT
in the long list that appears find and click on STANDARD ACCIDENTALS
the flat symbol is the first one.
Hope that helps.
that made it possible. thanks !!!
I did a shortcut for insert music text and then you can arrow yourself to the sign.
the “Start Recording Macro” was greyed out though…
thank you,
joakim
works great:

When I click OK nothing happens?.
Is the character selected under the dropdowns?
When I hit OK at that point, the character is correctly inserted in the text box.
In Library > Character Styles, what font do you have set for the Music Text style?
Thanks for the quick responde.
No nothing is showing in the text box like your pic:
The Font style is set like this :
I doubt that font has any music characters (but the font experts will soon chip in).
@Janus is right – the font for Music Text needs to be a SMuFL text font, like Bravura Text (the Dorico default).
This helped Thanks
