How Can I Put in a Fresh Install of 8.5 Without Changing 8.0

Hi,

I want to try out Cubase Pro 8.5 and would like to try it fresh with none of the settings or VSTs from my install of Cubase Pro 8.0. Unfortunately, when you install 8.5, it automatically takes all your settings from any existing install of 8.0. Does anyone know a way that I can install 8.5 fresh and clean without linking to my existing 8.0 installed VSTs without uninstalling Cubase 8.0? I tried in as the user who has 8.0 installed and I also tried it as a new user where you don’t see the Cubase 8.0 install, but both installs imported all the VSTs from 8.0.

Am I wishing for the impossible or is there a way?

Create a new user account and log into it. Run Cubase from there.

Most of your settings and presets and such that carry over are in your “%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Roaming/Steinberg” directory, or in your “%USERPROFILE%/Documents/Steinberg” folder.

By launching as a different user you should find it gets a fresh start since all those directories will be brand new.
