How can you make Cubase 8 work in Windows 7?

I just installed Cubase 8 and every time I try to launch it, I get this message: “Cubase 8 has stopped working.” My OS is Windows 7, and it is literally a brand new computer. Please tell me what I need to do to make Cubase work.

There should be nothing you’d have to do to make C8 work in Windows 7. Is it the current version you try to launch?
