In the “Steps Section” of the arpeggiator page in Padshop 2, you can show a “Pitch Row” which displays the Transpose value fields under the steps, or you can show the “Key Row” which displays the Key Select value fields under the steps. The “Pitch” and “Key” button to the right of the steps section are obvious, but I cannot figure out how to use Key Select.
The manual mentions a note buffer and instructs me to access Key Select values of the steps by clicking “Show Transpose or Key Select to the left of the editor, so that a keyboard icon is shown.” For the life of me, I cannot find a “Show Transpose or Key Select” button and I don’t know how to enter keys into the buffer or access them.
Can anyone give me some direction here? Thanks in advance.
In an effort to give a fellow member some help I decided to take a look at this and see what I could see. I cannot find anything regarding “Show Transpose or Key Select”. I’m not sure what they’re talking about there. Sorry I couldn’t help.
For anyone who finds this in the future, I figured out that the Key Select mode seems to be for playing chords: pressing the KEY button (next to the PITCH button to the right of the Steps Section of the Arpeggiator) allows you to use “Key Select” to choose which notes of a played chord (up to 8 notes) will sound during a particular step in the arpeggio. You can also choose to have the entire chord play as a step in the arpeggio. This is a different way of creating arpeggios than using the PITCH button which allows you to transpose a played pitch up or down by semitones.
