How do I activate license on Trial version of Dorico 5 Pro?

I downloaded the 60-day free trial version of Dorico 5. After a few days I purchased it (crossgraded from Finale). The program is already installed. I suppose I need not throw away the free version and re-install the paid one? Normally when you have a free trial program, it won’t save etc. Then when you purchase the real deal, it asks you to enter a license somewhere in the program so the full version is activated. I can’t find such a place to do that in Dorico. I threw out the installer after installing the program. Should I re-install the installer to enter the code there, as is mentioned in some places? I found a “redeem download access code” button under ‘products’ in my Steinberg account. I clicked on it and entered the code given to me upon access. Was that it? Will the already installed version on my computer continue to save and work with full features after 60 days?

Hi @Hakan_Ali_Toker , welcome to the forum.

No, Dorico is different. You can completely leave the Dorico installation as it is. It is the license that you hold which tells Dorico how to behave.
And yes, if you have already redeemed your access code for your purchased license, then that was almost it. You just need to open the Steinberg Activation Manager (gets installed along with Dorico) and activate the new license. That’s it then.

Thank you so much Ulf!
May I ask you one more thing?
When downloading the program, an 3,35GB folder entitled “Steinberg” ended-up in my Downloads folder. In it there’s an OSX folder, which contains 11 other folders such as Dorico 51.51 Application Installer, Groove Agent SE 5, Halion Sonic 7.1.0 etc. I doubt the “Downloads” folder is the right place for it. Shall I drag it to my “Applications” folder where Dorico itself is sitting in? I’m on a MAC, by the way.

You are more than welcome.
And see, the Steinberg Download Assistant first downloads all the Dorico installer stuff and then runs the actual installer to copy things into the final place(s). What remains is the downloaded installer files. Some people like the idea of keeping those files. Others throw them in the trash, knowing that at any point in time they can redownload them again. So if you want to keep your harddrive clean an lean, simply throw away that stuff from Downloads.
