How do I move the text window?

Hi, I am new in Dorico, and I don’t know how to move the text window, so it is not in the way of the sheet music. It makes me a bit angry, why I cannot just click and move it with my left mouse button. Or perhaps I can, but don’t see how.

Currently it can’t be repositioned. It pops up in a consistent place relative to the selection, as you see – even if that place is off screen.

For me it comes up directly above the text field where I’m entering text – and only WHEN I’m entering text. When I’ve entered the text, it goes away.

I agree that it is annoying that you can’t reposition it at will - it will often cover a lyric you might be copying out by hand for example

I like to make notes (not musical ones, text ones) when sketching but can’t see what I’m commenting on. There should be a provision for shutting it off or moving it, or at least having a minimal version that doesn’t block so much when I’m using it…

Have you tried using the comment function?

That’s good for comments I don’t want to show or print when laying out a lesson or, in this case, demonstrating to a professor what I was doing when I made certain decisions. Still, definitely helpful; thanks!

You can export the comments for him/her.
