I have worked out how to set 7 quavers to be septuplets over one beat in cubase, by watching this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA8qYO38XZc , but I need to set 7 quavers over two beats, not one, and here is a screen shot with the notes highlighted and the quantize panel on the left. There may be some place to set the range of the beat you are quantizing to, but I’m not sure where this is of if it is there. Thanks for your help. I have Cubase 14, but I’m using version 12 here I believe. The septuplet will be needed to be set over the last beat of bar 37 and the first beat of bar 38.
Could you not use septuplets per beat, meaning it will give you 14 per two beats and then glue every second note together, giving you 7 over two beats?
This gives me 0.0.1.17 length per note which will get you 7 per two beats.
Thanks ilmolto, that’s a great idea. I will try this out instead. It makes sense mathematically so I’m sure it will work. Thanks for taking the time to help me out
Yes, that’s also another good idea. I’m just trying out ilmoto’s idea now, But, when I set the quantize to septuplets, and the grid in the back is showing 7 rectangles per beat, and I suddenly realized that all I have to do is drag the length of the notes out,so each note is made to equal two of those rectangles, so that fixes the problem. But thanks also for your idea, much appreciated also!
