How do you get the First Time Repeat Ending to cover multiple bars?

In Cubase 14.0.20 on Windows 11, how do I get a First Time Repeat Ending to cover multiple bars?

I can add the Repeat Endings OK, and even stretch the first one back over multiple bars by dragging left the little circle by the number one, but when I release the mouse, everything snaps back to being 1 bar long.

So, I start with this:

stretch it to this:

but when I let the mouse go it becomes this:

I want the first time section to be from bars 5-8 with the second time starting at bar 9.

I know I could make the last line a Coda and use D.C. al Coda, but I’m after a solution to make the first time section longer than 1 bar. It’ll often be 2 bars and often in the middle of a song, so using a Coda is not an answer to lots of situations.

I have the exact same problem.
Is there any other way (then “stretch with mouse”) to change the Repeat Ending-object?

It seems quiet out there and no one has offered a solution. What happens now? Is there a way I can get feedback from a Steinberg expert? Do I need to raise this as a fault in another system? If so, where and how? Or do I just need to live with this as an unresolved issue and work around it as best I can?

Perhaps Stefan Fuhrmann @StefanFuhrmann from Steinberg, who is quite active here, can provide an answer.
