How is Cubase finding a Plugin I've deleted including all traces

When I load Cubase 14 it keeps flagging up Softube Tape as it loads up. I’ve deleted vst2 and 3. I’ve deleted Softube’s ‘flow’ suite. I’ve deleted the preferences. I’ve restarted. I’ve done a search for ‘Tape’ on the hardrive and deleted anything that might be relevant.

I want to be able to load up Cubase without it telling me to activate a plugin that doesn’t exist on my system.

Does anyone know what is going on here?

Thanks in advance

And now it’s just playing with me - it did it one time - loaded up without asking for activation for ‘Tape’. I quit and restarted Cubase and then it did it again.

Where is it looking for this plugin? I thought it would only look in the vst3 plugins folder? (even though I’ve deleted all traces on the mac that I can find anyway)

Does it show up in Plugin Manager?

On Mac the search path to VST3 plugs is

 Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3

Is in there or in a subfolder maybe a symbolic link to somewhere else?

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve done all these things - there is no trace of this plugin on the entire system. I thought it could have been other plugins in Softube’s ‘Flow’ suite triggering it and have removed them too.
It doesn’t show up in Plugin Manager and isn’t in the blocked plugins list. Truly a ghost in the machine.
