I’ve been playing around with group playing techniques and if I type “ord ->sul pont” I get the semi-circular bridge glyph. I don’t want that, I want the text I typed in. How do I get that to happen?
The problem is that the glyph version and the text version have the same popover alias. Luckily, you can actually change that, at least on a per project basis:
- In Write mode, open the Playing Techniques palette in the right panel, open the ‘Strings’ section and click the pencil right below the playing techniques to open the ‘Edit Playing Techniques’ dialog.
- In the left panel of the dialog, click the ‘Sul Ponticello (Bow on Bridge)’ entry (this is the one for the glyph) and edit the ‘Popover text’ field to something like ‘sul pont glyph’. Click ‘OK’.
Now you can expect it to work like you want it to when writing “ord ->sul pont” in the popover.
