When I start Cubase 6 and load a midifile it converts to the Halion Sonic SE,
I would like to change this settings to the normal Sonic program.

I sthis possible and how

There is a setting under File:Preferences:Midi File:Import Options panel : Destination. (default appears to be Halion Sonic SE Multi-timbral)

However this only has 3 settings Midi Tracks, Instrument Tracks, Halion Sonic SE Multi Timbral.

It may be possible via setting up a startup template to use Midi Tracks, or Instrument Tracks which point to Halion Sonic.
Don’t know enough about that yet to advise though. Might be worth a look at templates section of the pdf guide.
