Just what the title say. I recently started using Cubase 12 previously i was using logic. Logic is very easy to maneuver. I don’t mix on the vocal track i send the vocal track to a bus and mix on the bus. I want to add effects to the bus, a send. Cant figure out how to do it. Any help please?
If I understand correctly, the simplest way is to just create an FX Track, put your vocal effects on that track, and just route your Vocal track to that FX track:
This will be the equivalent of sending to an effects bus in Logic. You could also leave the output routing to Stereo Out (Master) and create an actual send insert to the Verb track pre/post at whatever level you want and it will sum into the master. A couple of ways to get what you want there. If you have multiple vocals, you can just sum them all into the Verb, though what I do is typically set up sub-mixes for that with send inserts to the FX. Depends on what you’re looking for.
In Cubase a Logic bus is a Group Track, and an Aux is an Effect Track.
There is no predefined amount of group and effect tracks. You just create the ones you need.
Here is what it could look like:
One audio channel for vocals is routed to a group channel. From that group channel we send a signal (aux send) to an effect channel.
Both the group channel and the effect channel have their outputs routed to the same destination in this example.
Thank you for correcting my nomenclature! I opted to not install Logic on my main rig this go-round and was lazy in my reply.
Permission to use “PreMaster” instead of “sub-mix” if I may, sir??
Is the “effect” on the FX Vocals 1 an insert there?
In @Johnny_Moneto’s screenshot it’s a “send” from the GR Vocals group to the FX Vocals 1 “Effects Track.” You would then use the Inserts on the FX Vocals 1 effects track to load what effects you want on that track.
Make sure your “Sends” are enabled in the Mix Console by clicking the wee gear and ensuing “Sends” is checked:
