Hello everyone!
I am new to Dorico and I have a question about the ruler and grid.
I need that Dorico use the same spacing for a note value independently of the values that are in a bar.
For example: a 4/4 bar has not always the same spacing: when I input 4 groups of sixteenth notes is the bar larger than a 4/4 bar with only one whole note.
In engrave mode I can see the ruler and grid, on preferences I can choose the unit of measurement and on the grid options I can also choose the grid presets. But how can I align the notes to this grid? How can I say Dorico that a quarter note –for example– always has a 10mm or 4 squares spacing?
Then a 4/4 bar which just has a whole note would have a spacing from 4 squares, just like a 4/4 bar with 4 groups of sixteenth notes and so on, always with the right proportions.
That is useful for space notation scores and scores without barlines, where specific time and rhythmic proportions are necessary. It also helps while inputing dynamics.
I though it may works like on Finale or similar. But it is possible on Dorico to work with this rhythmic proportions or can I get it with some tricks?
Regards
Thank you!
