How to build tuplets in the score editor with a tie

Hello. I am trying to learn how to build tuplets in the score editor in Cubase.

Here I built a triplet figure using the “Build Tuplets” dialog but I want to join the two Ds so it ties over. If I glue the two notes together in my key editor this is what I get

This is wrong, the 1st D of the triplet has now dissapeared and there is a triplet rest.

What I need is the 8th note D to tie to the 8th note triplet D. How can I achieve this?

Here is the midi in the key editor in case there is confusion.

Apply the glue tool to the first note to be tied (D) in the score editor.

Hi Wally, I did exactly what you said and this is the result.

I went from this

To this

In other words the same thing as before. Can you please hel p me get it right?

The lengths in the Key Editor do not seem to match that of the notes in the score.
You should have this:

My song has a swing groove and I have 8ths selected as my prefered quantization value. Is this why there is a discrepancy. I have the 8ths selected because otherwise the score editor shows brackets with 3 all over the place when my entire song has a swing feel and I just want normal 8th notes shown as is usual when notating a swing groove

Here is a shot of my score settings

Ok I got it to work, there was a “3” in the earlier bar that was causing the display to be all weird for that bar. and also, I realized that I have to use 16th notes with “shuffle” if I want to show swing notes as normal 8th notes else the editor shows each triplet with brackets on top. Is this supposed to be like this?
