I am writing for a slightly strange quartett of professional musicians.
The e-guitarist asked me to change some parts of the score to TAB, because I had him tune his two lowest strings down a whole tone and it was to hard for him to sight read.
I can’t find a way to change the score to TAB notation mid score only the whole score or I have to show both always.

I tried at first to give the guitar player 2 instruments, but it seems the setting to show notation, tablature or both is per player, not per instrument, so that did not lead to the result you want.
But maybe you can get the result you want by simply adding an extra guitar player, set in layout options to show only tablature, and hide empty staves.
This could work if you don’t need a switch mid-system. For the example I kept staff labels default, but you could make them the same of course.
Yes, I tried that but then I still have two staves in the Guitar-Part and for some reason I can’t hide empty staves there or enable empty bars to be cut away…
