I have several Steinberg licenses (Cubase, VSTs, etc.) and I’m considering selling some. How can I find out which ones are transferable? Does Steinberg have a tool or list to check license eligibility for resale? Any tips or steps would be appreciated!
How about license that came from crossgrades or upgrades?
As far as I read I can request a license transfer, but I don’t even know which licenses of mine are allowed to be transferred.
Thank you, but that’s not helpful at all since there’s still not an overview of the licenses that can be sold.
My case: I own Cubase 13, did the upgrade to Nuendo 13 then to Nuendo 14 (and that’s what I use). My Nuendo 13 license is gone since I became a license for Nuendo 14. However, my Cubase 13 license is still showing up in my account. I can download and activate Cubase 13.
So now.. can I transfer this?
Steinberg Resale Wizard just says: " Educational Licenses
Educational licenses are personal and must not be passed on or sold to any other third party or person.
Software/hardware bundle
So-called OEM software like Cubase AI, Cubase LE, WaveLab LE, Sequel LE must not be sold separately from the hardware they initially came bundled with. This also applies to included effect plug-ins, for example the Basic FX Suite collection."
- my license is not EDU and I didn’t came with any Software or Hardware Bundle.
My conclusion: I can transfer it, right?
My problem: I cannot safely sell my license until I don’t know for sure.
By the upgrade, you replaced the old license by the new one. If you would buy new Nuendo 14 license, you would get 2 licenses (Nuendo 13 and Nuendo 14).
Then you can sell it.
If it’s an EDU license, then you cannot sell it. If it’s a retail license, you can sell it. How exactly is the license named? Could you attach an Steinberg Activation Manager screenshot, please?
