How to connect AKAI MPK mini mk3 with Cubase 10.5 AI?

Got a copy of Cubase 10.5 AI with my UR22C and trying to get an AKAI MPK mini mk3 to work, but no luck. How do you get this working in Cubase?
Thanks

Hi,

I don’t think you need a driver. You can just plug it in and start to use it. Do you want to control anything specific in Cubase? If yes, look at the QuickControls (to control the plug-ins parameters) or Generic Remote Device (to control Cubase) features, please.

Thanks for the reply. Got no sound or recognition of the MPK in Cubase 10.ai,
Have seen someone mapping the buttons, but thought I could plug&play (at least to start with)
I’ve got sound through my UR22C from Cubase, but nothing g with the MKP.
Also tried it with Acid Music, but cant even find the device .manager in that.

Hi,

As far as I know, MPK mini is a MIDI controller, it doesn’t produce any sound.

You have to add an Instrument track in Cubase. The instrument will create the sound.

Hi Martin,
Yes, that is correct, the MPK is a MIDI controller. I had added an instrument track and went straight for Groove Agent, but there is no sound whatsoever, but there is when using HALion Sonic (the pads and keys work fine with this, but no sound at all with GA).
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Regards

Hi,

Have you loaded any preset in Groove Agent, please?

Hi,
I reinstalled the Cubase software and it appears to now work, but I still think I may need to look at the pad mapping.
