which is the rihgt way to connect external mic pre to ur 242?
I m using line imputs 3/4 to connect audio output from Yamaha Montage and I am not certain if I can connect line output of external pre to mic input 1 on my Ur 242.

Yes, no problems, you can connect an external pre to any and all audio inputs on the UR242.

I wasnt sure about that ,because preamps on ch 1 and 2 cant be bypassed.

Yeah, it wouldn’t be my first choice either, as it’s a bit of a mess with having variable gain…
