How to convert old Nuendo 4 files to Cubase 12 CPR

Hi!
I am just in the process of moving to a new studio system running Cubase Artist 12, and when attempting to open old Nuendo 4 projects, I get an error - this version cant open Nuendo 4.
Has anyone had success in doing this conversion? And how?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Unfortunately Cubase Artist doesn’t open Nuendo projects. Only Cubase Pro can do this.

Download Cubase Pro Trial and transfer all your Nuendo projects to Cubase projects there.

Ah I see - ok I will try this! Its possible to convert with just the trial?

Hi,

Yes, it’s possible. Trial is the full version, just time-limited license.

Thanks! So I have purchased Artist 12 already, downloading the trial of Pro 12 seems to want to install all the same files again which I already have… not totally sure how that will affect my current version
of Artist…

Hi,

Cubase Artist and Pro is the same executable. Just the license decides, which function you get. So you don’t have to download and install anything.

This is rhe thing- when you get the trial version, you need to download it via the Steinberg download assistant- after you select Cubase 12 Pro, its prompts you to reinstall the same files so thats where my confusion lies…
