I want to be able to copy/paste lyrics to different parts for a 3 part harmony for my church’s choir. My main issues that I can’t filter the lyrics of one part and copy/paste to another part. This is easily done in Dorico which I have…however sometimes I dont want to leave the current project that I am working in cubase which has all the audio information. Can anyone help me with this? Also, if this can’t be done is there a way to work with Dorico so I can import back the information into the Cubase project with lyrics information. Ty Guys!
You can copy and paste lyrics inn cubase score editor, but it’s a little more complicated than in Dorico, both copying and pasting.
If you have several tracks open in the score editor you have to be aware of which track that’s active. If you have copied a lyric line and want to paste it onto another track, you have make the track active before you select the initial note and select paste (ctrl+V).
This is not music, just an example:
I have writen nonsens into flute, selected the lyrics and copied it. Then clicked the drumset track (white in the list) so it became active, selcted the note (first note in 2.line, ) and hit ctrl+V.
Result as you see in the pic.
I would try first to make a copy of the project , save, and then try to import the dorico variant to dorico, make the lyrics in dorico, and reexport it to Cubase; to see if that is easier.
Havent tried this myself tho.
Ty for helping me with this Buer. However, I am not able to copy/paste after I choose an active track per your instructions. I choose the first note where I want to start copying my lyrics but nothing happens when I hit paste. So weird.
Another try:
Activate the track you want to copy to,
Select the note for the point of inserting, and
Press L to set locator.
Press ctrl+V
I think I had to be in Symbol pane in order for it to work Buer but this time it did work. It is the combination of being in Symbol pane and choosing the active track first, choosing the note you want to paste it and then hit paste. TY Buer!!
