How to create a default for all times for all times

How to create a default, for all times for all instruments, so you can use it for every new piece of music you make. Now you have to do that for each new piece of music. Or am I wrong ?

Welcome to the forum.

  1. Either build endpoints and use those to create a custom playback template that contains every possible instrument you will use or;
  2. Buy NotePerformer and set it as your default playback template.
  3. Using either #1 or #2, customize further with mixer settings, engrave, layout and notation options and save as a Project Template.

Others may have other ideas but generally the above are standard ways of creating defaults.

I’ve done both #1 and #2. They each have their advantages and disadvantages but with NotePerformer playback engines, it fused both for me as I use it as stock NotePerfomer on my laptop and with my EastWest libraries on my desktop.

EDIT: I should have prefaced this by saying that Dorico comes with many Project and Playback templates right out of the box. If those don’t suit you, see above.

It is not the intention to buy anything else, so I will have to look for it in Dorico itself, but thanks for your reaction.
