I wish to set up an ensemble of tenor, bass, great bass and contrabass recorders. I cannot find the larger sizes of recorder in Dorico. Are they available? Is there a suggested work-around? I have used bass/contrabass flutes in Finale in the past, but it was not ideal.
You can create your own instruments in Library>Instruments.
For playback I guess you would need a specialised VST.

Sample libraries
NotePerformer has recorders (although not sub-contra!), you may already have NP
Versilian Studios have a dedicated recorder sample library which looks tempting
A thread here at VI-control with a sample library list
@mjlawlor Feel free to link to a performance or snippet here when its completed
Would be nice to hear an eight-foot consort piece
Perhaps some of the Garritan organ stops might be a closer match?
There is a Bass recorder in the Garritan World Instruments library – they have a family of recorders – Sopranino, Piccolo, Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass. Nothing larger, though.
Garritan Instruments for Finale (“GIFF”) comes only with Soprano, Alto and Tenor.
The samples themselves are quite good (if handled with a good bit of reverb), but the instrument definitions need a bit of work. The volume is far too loud; and there’s too much Air noise by default, though you can control that with CC12. (The GIFF Tenor doesn’t have a dial for this in ARIA player, but you can still send CC12 =0 in an Expression map Init, for example.)
