How to delay verse locals, but not delay chorus vocals

I want the verse vocals to be delayed, yet I want the chorus vocals to be solid, as in: not have any delay.

Will I have to separate verse vocal tracks from chorus vocal tracks? If so, how can I copy all of the equalization/volume from the original tracks?

Or is there a better way to handle this?

Automation of the Delay effect should do the trick.

Automation is definitely the easiest way .
Another way is to
Duplicate track,
Make 1 track Main Vox, 2nd Track Chorus
Edit/Mute parts accordingly
Add delay to the chorus track
(You can still add automation if needed…)

Automation is completely new to me. I have not tried that yet, so i think ill stick with the 2nd option

I do know how to use automation but I would still go with duplicating and cutting the tracks up so verse on o e set and chorus on another set. It is far more flexible and easier to follow

To have it function in real time, while singing, one might look to see if the Delay had a “mix” (wet/dry) setting, and map that to a quick controls. This will automatically record the automation on the track.

I do not understand, ich verstehe nicht :frowning:

The only problem with duplicating tracks is, any other changes after duplicating have to applied to both tracks. Automation is your friend!
