This post relates to two earlier posts, the most recent being:
I am creating this new thread to provide information to anyone puzzled by Dorico’s behavior when editing a Playing Technique that has been saved in the user library by “starring”. Daniel provided the solution, but I am presenting it here more narrowly and with its own Topic title.
I. Open and “un-star” the Playing Technique in the Playing Technique editor.
2. The crucial step: Save the Playing Technique, which closes the editor.
3. Now reopen the editor and reedit the Playing Technique, changing the font, position, or category. and perhaps other aspects.
4. Re-star the Playing Technique.
5. Save.
Now the change will be saved to your user library and be reflected in all subsequently created files. If you don’t do the process as listed above, the changes will not be saved in the user library.
If this information is not contained in the Help app, (I couldn’t find it) I suggest that it be added.
