How to Edit Individual Repeat Ending Brackets

I have a 1st and 2nd repeat ending. The 1st ending bracket is the correct height. However, the 2nd ending bracket is too high. I tried changing the 2nd ending’s hook length in the properties panel, but that also changes the hook length of the 1st ending bracket. Is there a way to change the hook length just for the 2nd ending bracket? Any help would be great please! Thanks so much!

When you say “height”, do you mean distance from the staff, or hook length? Can you post a quick image?

Sure! Give me a minute please!

I’m wanting the top part of the bracket closer to the bar WITHOUT affecting the distance of the 1st ending’s bracket. Essentially, the 2nd ending’s bracket is too high for my liking.

So the first ending bracket is at the same height? Because there are notes above the staff, or something like that?

I think it’s usual for the endings to be the same height above the staff, even if one leaves more white space underneath. But if you don’t like this look, then I would set the hook length to something normal (factory default is 2.5 spaces), and then move the second ending bracket closer to the staff in Engrave mode.

I’ve tried dragging the 2nd ending bracket down, but the left line of the 2nd ending bracket gets overlapped on the bar.

My hook length is set to 7 spaces as well. The reason being is I like having the hook as close to the bar as possible.

It wouldn’t, if you had a more usual hook length!

It looks like you can set the hook length of one set of ending brackets different from your global setting, in the Properties panel, but you can’t have a hook length in one bracket that’s different from the other. (Though someone else may have a clever workaround.)
