How to edit instrument names after MusicXML import

Hello Daniel,
I stumbled onto that topic while having similar problems. In one project I have an instrument I called Galoubet en si (sic!), and at first I entered Gal. si as abbreviated form. But those 2 names consume horiontal space, so first I hoped to be able to give the full name as
Galoubet
en si
on 2 lines, like I did in Finale. I am not sure whether it is possible now in the current version?
And i decided to change the abbreviated form to “G.”. Obviously there are more than one place where I had defined that, Instrument names and Players names, so I chaned it in both. But it had no effect! I looked in the musicxml export, the value is exported as
Gal. si

Gal. si

So there must be another place wher this form was entered and I cannot find it to fix it (which is driving me crazy :-)). Do you know where it could be?
?
There are also references in this topic to the possibility of removing .1 and .2 suffixes for different players with the same instrument after renaming. Has something also be done for this in this version?
Thanks
Patrick

Patrick, if you use Setup > Reset Instrument Names, that should reset the instrument names to their defaults. If you have edited the names of the players, they can be reset following the instructions here.

To show the transposition on a separate line, activate Show on separate line on the Staves and Systems page of Layout Options.
