How to export tempo track "correctly"?

How do I export a tempo track correctly to further use it in any other DAW?

I normally use the linear mode for editing tempo tracks, so I get fluent speed ramps. When I’m exporting it to Midi, all linear ramps get converted to steps and when I’m importing the Midi file eg in Pro Tools, the tempo track seems quite “inaccurate”.

Any tips or workarounds?

So maybe the solution is to not use linear edits on a tempo track… Although this would not be an ideal solution…

Have you tried increasing the resolution when you export the midi file? You’ll never get perfectly smooth ramps in an exported midi file but it might decrease the interval between steps.
