How to get around the Cubase and wmv incompatibility?

According to what I researched, Cubase is not compatible with wmv files, right?

Well, I need to edit a clip in wmv, adding and mixing some audio tracks. Is there any way for me to get around this incompatibility, or should I go for some other program (in this case, which one)?

I appreciate any tip.

I’m using Win10 64b + Cubase Elements 9.
