can anyone show me how to get rid of an arturia MK2 midi controller input ? Ive googled it and even asked chatgpt yet its still there. Whenever i add an arturia vst, I get the attached screenshot message and its so annoying but I cant get rid of it
Did you do what the dialog says?
The only option I have is to set its visible property, its still available and active even after doing that
This message shows up when the Keylab MIDI Out Port 1 is occupied by the DAW. One case that this may happen inside Cubase, which I was able to confirm, is when you setup a MIDI Remote attached to the MIDI In/Out Port 1 pair of the Keylab MK2. When you open Studio→Studio Setup→MIDI Port Setup, inspect the “Usage” tab for the Keylab’s MIDI Out Port 1. If it’s set to “MIDI Remote Controller etc” then this is the case. Another case is if you accidentally setup its MIDI Out Port 1 to a Mackie device.
hi there
thanks for the advice, it doesn’t seem to be setup as a remote, ive attached a screenshot of the midi port setup
midi out (keylab) is set to active and I cant see a way to deactivate it
keylab midi in is not active
Im still getting the same message
I see. Then check if you have a generic remote setup using this port as an output. At the moment, I can’t think of another case, except of course if this port is already occupied by another app (not Cubase).
Its a mystery to me, I dont have any remotes setup at all and cubase is the only app that uses the keylab or anything else midi related
Sometimes, in the past I did have the MIDI Control Center open at the same time. I guess you’ve already checked that. Other than that, I’m totally out of ideas. Could you perhaps upload a tiny Cubase project (no events are of importance, just tracks) in which you replicate the issue, so we can have a look?
