I want to have to key editors open next to each other with different tracks. I read that I have to uncheck the ‘Editor content follows Event Selection’, which I did. This did not change its behaviour. I followed the instructions to trash the preferences file by putting a x in front of the %appdata%/Steinberg Cubse 14_64 folder. Reinstalled Cubase via the download manager. Nothing works. I have to manually compare two tracks which is impossible this way. What should I do now?

Disabling this preferences makes the trick. Did you try it before you quit Cubase, trash preferences, etc.?
Btw, we are talking about the Key Editor window, not the Lower Zone.
How did you open the new (2nd) Key Editor window?
