Hallo. I need to insert this:
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance
You could edit the C or cutc in Library→Music Symbols→Time Signatures if you don’t need them elsewhere.
Jesper
The symbol is under Time Signatures supplement.
And welcome to the forum, @orgelmeister!
Thanks for answering so quickly!
I did, but it’s very complicated to fit it on every staff, due to the alignment of the first note after the clef
thanks a lot!
Yes, I did it so, but Maybe I’m not able to enter it as time
If you edited the cutc (Cut Time) symbol, enter cutc in the Shift-M measure popover. Or from here.
Jesper
I can’t edit the cutc…
Open Library→Music Symbols. Select Time Signatures as Category in the upper left side. Scroll down and find the Cut Time. Delete the regular cutc symbol with the trash can. In the right side under Range, select Time Signatures supplement. Double-click the correct symbol to add it.
Jesper
AFAIK this is only avalable for Dorico-Pro , maybe you have Elements or SE?
I see that the symbol already excist as Cut Time Bach, but don’t know if it’s possible to enter it in the popover. Tried all combos I could think of.
Jesper
It works, but if I replace the symbol, it changes the time in the other flows too
Right – you’re basically telling Dorico, “When I ask for cut time, use this symbol”, and that’s a project-wide setting. So if your other flows use cut time, they’ll get that symbol as well.
If you want the cut c for some flows and the cut 2 for others, if you’re not using the C or 4/4 time signatures, you could replace it with the cut 2, although then you may have some unwanted effects with your note groupings, which are based on the time signature. (That is, tell Dorico, “When I ask for C, use this symbol”.)
There are other ways to manage this by using the cut c but hiding it, and then adding the cut 2 as text. But you’d have to adjust the spacing a bit – which may be where you started, above!
Do you need both C and C/ in the other flows?
Yes, they are 22 flows
So, you could choose a time signature number that you don’t use at all — for example, 7. Replace it with 2/.
Then enter a 7/4 with four beats (7/4,4), hide the denominator in the Properties Panel, and finally insert a hidden cut-C in the following bar.
Very nice, @charles_piano!
Great, it works!
I hope the software developers read this
Many thanks to all
Only on the first bar
