I’ve got a piano piece that the left hand and right hand are both playing the same note sequentially. How do I get the beam to connect the 16th notes for a group of four. The last of the notes being beamed from the left hand up to the right hand? That’s a terrible explanation, I’m sure. Essentially, the beaming is part of both the lower and upper staves. Not sure how to get Dorico to do it.
If you select a note and press N or M then it will move the note up/down a stave.
Does that help?
A fast way is to enter all the note in Treble clef than select alternating notes and press M to move (edit: cross) them to bass clef.
Bit of a clarification:
-
Moving notes to other staves changes which staff they belong to, ie where their anchor is
-
Crossing notes to other staves keeps them anchored to their original staff, but lets them appear elsewhere
The latter allows you to create cross-staff beams and results in fewer rests.

Thanks, got it figured out. Crossing notes to other staves with Cross-staff beaming was what I was aiming for.
