How to make basic settings after installing cubase 12?

I have installed cubase 12 pro on a mac mini 2 and am trying to get it to work. I have two main problems.

  1. The program breaks the sound even when listening to the recording. I had a similar problem on Windows, but there I just stopped the internet and everything started working correctly. I stopped the internet on the mac mini 2 but that didn’t help.
    Please help if you know a solution for mac mini 2.

  2. The other problem is that it doesn’t record an instrument. The sound card shows an indication of sound, but nothing is heard.

  1. Try to increase the Buffer Size, please. What Audio Device do you use? What Buffer Size do you use?

  2. Make sure Cubase has enabled Mic in the System Preferences, please.
    Open macOS System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone. Enable Cubase here.

I use a UR 824 audio interface USB. In reality, the problem appears when a compressor or limiter is placed in the mix console on the stereo output. Then it doesn’t matter what the buffer size is.
