There are default bar numbers at each bar line in Write mode. They are faint or transparent, and I have a hard time reading them. In Engrave mode, I notice they are centered, less transparent, and a bit larger. As a workaround, I added measure numbers in Layout Options, and I can see those fine. But in either mode, how do I modify the appearance of the default bar numbers?
Welcome to the forum, @ahalbert1!
The light gray numbers at the barline use the Galley View Margin Labels paragraph style. You can modify this style to make them larger, or bold, or use a different font altogether. Unfortunately, you can’t currently change their color. (Actually, some users have reported that they can, but most of us cannot.)
If you’re seeing bar numbers that are centered on the bar, that sounds like something you’ve added yourself, probably through Layout Options > Bar Numbers.

Thank you for the help! Found those settings, changed to Arial Black, and enlarged them. Can’t center them, and as you mentioned, no color adjust, but they are easier to see now. Thanks again.
