How to Move Tempo-Aligned Audio Tracks to 00:00:00:00 Without Losing Metronome Synch

Title: Cubase Pro 16 – How to Move Tempo-Aligned Audio Tracks to 00:00:00:00 Without Losing Metronome Synchronization?

Hi everyone,

I’m using Cubase Pro 16 and need some help with audio positioning after tempo detection.

I imported a complete reference song along with its individual stems (vocals, drums, bass, piano, guitar, and other instruments).

My workflow was:

  1. Imported the reference audio and all stems.

  2. Set the project tempo to 90 BPM.

  3. Selected all the audio events.

  4. Used Detect Tempo and Align to Project.

  5. Confirmed that the audio plays in synchronization with the metronome throughout the song.

Everything is working correctly in terms of tempo synchronization.

The problem:

All my audio events now start at 00.00.02.28 instead of 00.00.00.00.

The Info Line shows:

  • Start: 00.00.02.28

  • Snap: 00.00.02.39

  • Project Tempo: 90.000 BPM

I tried moving all the audio events together to the beginning of the project, including manually changing the Start value to 00.00.00.00.

However, whenever I do this, the audio no longer aligns correctly with the metronome.

My question:

Is there a way to move all the audio events to start at 00.00.00.00 while preserving their existing alignment with the project tempo and metronome?

Ideally, I want to keep the project at 90 BPM, maintain synchronization across all stems, and have the audio events start at the beginning of the timeline.

Is there a specific Cubase function or workflow for achieving this?

I’m happy to share screenshots if needed.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I think Set range 00:00 to 02:28 and then Edit/Range/Delete time would work.

Have you tried setting a time offset in the project setup?
