I have a nice “fakebook” template that I learned from a Dorico video. It has a single player with multiple layouts for each transposing instrument. If I put lyrics into the score, they show up in each part. Now, is there a way to omit the lyrics from some of the layouts (without adding another player)?

one (not very elegant) way would be to select all and filter for lyrics in that layout, and with the properties panel set to Locally, override the color property and set its opacity/alpha to 0%, making so the lyric invisible.
Or you can create a Paragraph Style with white foreground and assign it to all the lyrics of that layout.
(With both this methods the “hidden” lyrics will still influence spacing though).
The better way is indeed to create a second player for the non lyric layouts, copying everything but the lyrics into it (and in setup decide which player should appear on which layout)
Thanks! I’ll assume that there is no Layout option to omit lyrics. I’ll try one of these workarounds or perhaps add a new player with lyrics and copy the melody to that player.
