If I use the “Lyrics from clipboard” function in the score editor it does not respect slurs. Meaning, that if a sylable or word is used for 2 notes connected by a slur, it does not recognize this and instead sees the slured notes as two seperate sylables. How can I get around this?
Use a tie instead, I would presume.
Ties are used to join two notes together of the same value and Cubase inserts them automatically doesn’t it?
Or use hyphens.
Clipboard text: “Glo - ri a”
Result:
Thank you. That seems like a solution although it really isnt ideal because the hyphen actually goes between sylables like ri - a… In your example you didn’t have a hyphen there. Ok, you can put a hyphen in but then there is no diferentiation between broken words and words that are sung over two or more notes. The correct way is to have an underscore which I can do manually but that kind of undermines the facility of using the "paste lyrics from clipboard " function. What do you think?
I can delete the hyphen and add an underscore manually after inputing the lyrics however, and this may be what I will have to do if I want it this way, but really, is there no easier way than to do it manually?
What about using Melisma.
Text in clipboard: “Glo - ri- a”
Though you will still have to manually delete unwanted hyphens.
