I would like to record something from YouTube. How to do so in SL?
In Audacity it works
In Spectral Layers the inputs are not available.
When trying ASIO, Spectral Layers crashes immediatley after pressing the recording button.

Stay in WASAPI mode, and try recording with the Stereomix input.
If it doesn’t work, then make sure your default Windows system input is Digitale Audioschinttstelle when you go to Windows settings, System > Sound > Input
What’s weird is that even Windows itself does not list your “Digitale Audioschnittstelle” input device, it only list Stereomix. If Windows can’t see it, SpectraLayers won’t be able to see it.
Hi Robin, to clarify the issue.
The “Digitale Audioschnittstelle” is the amplifier connected via USB
I also wondered about “loopback” and googled.
Found this:
Since I am a customer, who - in this case - does not care about the deep internals of the operating system (Windows 11) and how a programm actually accesses the soundoutput, I was satiesfied about the way Audacity does this with ease.
So, as customer again, I would have expected, that this just works (I did not bother about this, until now… ) with SL as well.
To be more technical:
“WASAPI supports loopback recording regardless of whether the audio hardware contains a loopback device, or whether the user has enabled the device.”
So, could SL have this loopback option in a future release?
