How to reduce space in each bar in the score?

I am doing an exercise and want to reduce the space in each bar so that the whole notes all fit on one line. I tried going to page mode > auto layout > move bars and staves > max number of bars > 20 but it doesn’t do anything even though I just changed the max number of bars to 20. How can I make it so that each bar is just reduced in width so that the whole notes appear next to each other and fit on one row?

I resolved this by playing with the settings. It does work although you have to figure out the values for the auto layout section.

Hi,

Try Scores > Advanced Layout > Number of Bars. You can change it for “This Staff” or “All Staves”.
