I am using Cubasis 3 on Android and I have connected my electronic drum kit to the app via MIDI.
Most of it works great, but I am having an issue with the drum mapping: a few of my drum pads are triggering the wrong sounds in Cubasis (for example, a tom pad plays a cymbal sound, or vice versa).
Could you please guide me on how to correct or remap these MIDI notes within the app? Is there a built-in MIDI learn feature or a drum map editor in the Android version that allows me to reassign the pads to the correct instrument sounds?
Hi @marcelo.vizioli
Thanks for your message and a warm welcome to the Cubasis forum!
Please give these steps a try:
- Tap the KEYS button and switch to pads
- Tap the “e” button to edit the pads, and assign the notes that you’d like to trigger externally
- Enable Setup / MIDI / MIDI Learn mode
- Open the pads again (you should see green overlays)
- Tap a pad, then trigger your external drum kit to assign it
- See Steinberg help for more info Steinberg
Please let us know if this solved your problem!
Thanks
Lars
Hi @LSlowak
Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the clear instructions!
I followed the steps you outlined, and it worked perfectly. My electronic drum kit is now fully assigned and triggering exactly as it should.
Thanks for the great support!

Hi Lars,
I did not even know the pads could be remapped, who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks lol
Thank you for this information.
