I would like to label the vocal staves “SSA.” Dorico automatically numbers the two soprano lines “S1” and “S2.” I just want letters, no numbers. I figured out how to do this by creating a separate group for each soprano part. This got rid of the number, but then the bracket connecting the SSA lines goes away. How can I remove the staff label numbers but keep the bracket?
And a feature request: Please include an option to NOT auto-number staff labels of the same name.
This is actually quite easy to achieve:
edit the name of one of the Sopranos by adding a space in front of it.
“Soprano” short “S.”
“ Soprano” short “ S.”
That’s a useful trick!

Another method would be to rename the Players (Long and short names to S and A), then choose the Player name as label in Layout Options. You may want to not show the secondary bracket. This has the advantage that you don’t loose track of which staff is Soprano I and Soprano II for example in Galley view:
