How to rewind to left side of screen not right side

When i rewind, the bar I rewind to is on the right side of the screen - so as soon as I hit play or record, the screen scrolls.

How can I make it so the bar I rewind to is at the left side of the screen?

My first question and I am not sure I am asking it right. i did a search but found nothing. Maybe my terminology.

No answers - I will clarify. When I Shift+p to go to a particular bar. I would like that bar to be on the left of my screen - not over on the right.

Am I thinking about this wrong? Is there a workflow I should be using instead?
