How to select none?

Hi All

Cubase 15 on windows (11) -

  1. key command Ctrl+Shift+A (Edit: Select None)

does not de-select selected tracks that have been selected with ctrl+shift OR any method to select tracks. (within a mixer OR in the project window)

there also doesn;t seem to be a way to create a ple/macro to do it either.

any ideas - cheers

  1. Are there any new/amended midi commands / keycommands - i have develeoped a virutal app (android) that allows me to assign buttons to midi/keycommands a virtual midi surface so to speak. The README_v1.html does not seem to have been updated and i can’t find any docs on the steinberg web site

thankyou

Hi,

The Ctrl+A doesn’t select the tracks, therefore the Ctrl+Shift+A doesn’t deselect the tracks. Do you mean to select the Part/Events in the Project window?

Hi, @David_Nuttall

Using Ctrl+[click] works on my end (Cubase Pro 15 / Windows 10) to (un)select a given track as a toggle, but it works only one track after the other : if you have several tracks selected, you’ll have to use this combination for each of them.

So, if you want to unselect all tracks in one pass, the Project Logical Editor is your friend (it is mine, at least…), with the Deselect option as operation type :

You can then make a preset of it and assign to it a key command, using the Process Project Logical Editor category.

If you add the Select None command either as pre or post to this PLE setting you’ll have the full monty.

“The Full Monty” is quite the fit thinking about the film with that very same title
