Cannot one simply move prolongation dots exactly where one wants them in Dorico?
No, unfortunately not. You can move them along the X axis, but not Y. I might be misremembering, but I thought there was a thread where Daniel said this was due to the complications involved with rhythm dot consolidation.
If that is correct, it would be another show-stopper for me. I guess one could work around it graphically with a text dot.
It is the same in Sibelius with dots. No vertical option. Frustrating. I want the dot in the space above a lot more often than these programs do. Fred, I donât think itâs because itâs complicated for them to allow; I think itâs a policy.
Iâd love to have this functionality too. In Finale you can just use the Dot Tool and move it anywhere you please. I donât know if itâs a matter of âallowingâ it in Dorico though, or if it just has never been prioritized enough to be implemented.
