How to Show Lanes for Audio Takes in Cubase 14?

Hi everyone,

I’m new to Cubase 14 and I’d like to create lanes for recording multiple takes on an audio track. However, I can’t see the lanes, even when I check the track controls and the track settings.

Am I missing something? Could someone please help me with this?

Thanks in advance!

The Lanes are created dynamically. When you record on the Track it will record on the existing empty Lane and also creates a new empty Lane at the bottom. If you Show the Lanes and loop record to capture multiple passes you can see this occurring.

Thanks for your quick help! What I don’t actually understand is why I can’t see the Lane symbol. I can’t make it appear, even when accessing the track control.

What Cubase edition do you have? I am not sure that lanes are available in the lower tiers like LE or Elements.

good point

I have Cubase 14 Elements.
Is there an alternative to lanes in this version?

You could select the multiple takes on the track and convert them to an audio part (right click, “Events to Part”). That way, when you double click on the part, the part editor opens where all takes are on their own “lane”.
