How to split 4 mono channels into 2 stereo

Hello,

Is there a way to combine 4 mono channels into 2 stereo channels using WaveLab 8.5?

The filename format is:

TAKE01_1.WAV
TAKE01_2.WAV
TAKE01_3.WAV
TAKE01_4.WAV

TAKE01_1.WAV and TAKE01_2.WAV should be combined, as should TAKE01_3.WAV and TAKE01_4.WAV.

Unfortunately the instructions in The easiest way to combine mono files [L+R] into stereo. - WaveLab - Steinberg Forums don’t seem to work in this case.

I’ve tried using the “Accept dual-mono files” option in the Batch Processor and even changing “Dual-Mono file identification” in the settings to _1 and _2 for the first pair and _3 and _4 for the second pair of channels, but this was both tedious and also didn’t work at all for the second pair of channels (it outputted a mono file).

Is there any way to perform this task easily? Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Albert

It is only one set of files, use the audio montage.
If you have mutiples sets of files, consider doing it with the batch processor in 2 steps:

In your example:
Combine TAKE01_1.WAV and TAKE01_2.WAV, opened as dual mono files, into a new mono file A.
Combine TAKE01_3.WAV and TAKE01_4.WAV, opened as dual mono files, into a new mono file B.

Finally Open A/B as a dual mono file and save them as a stereo file.

The small difficulty is to take care about the naming pattern to recognize dual mono files. Read the doc for this.
