I’m on Dorico Pro 6 now and hoping there is a solution to this problem. I can’t figure out how to start playback on a selected pass. For example, I frequently want to start playback a few measures before a 1st ending and hear the transition to the 2nd ending. I know I can turn off “play repeats” but that plays right through the first ending to the 2nd. Any solution?
Hi @Steve_225, such a functionality is not jet implement, but has already been requested.
A possible workaround (maybe there are other and better ones) is to set temporarily 2 repeat jumps and 2 repeat sections markings as following:
- one Segno where you want the playback to start
- one Dal Segno al Coda at the beginning of the first repeat
- one To Coda at the beginning of the first repeat [to avoid it overwriting the other one, you need to create it in a later rhythmic position first, for example on the second note of the first ending, and then drag it at the beginning of that bar with the moving shortcuts Option(Alt)+left arrow), so it will be at the same rhythmic position as the Dal Segno al Coda]
- one Coda at the beginning of the second ending
Now you can select the barline of the first ending, press P and your playback will begin from sego and then jump directly to the second repeat:
