Hello, long time Cubase user who just updated to 15 pro (teacher edition) and I did something stupid-
Knowing that this version came wiht a lot of instruments/vsts/loops etc, I went into download assistant and downloaded practically everything that would download- Of course, when I tried to use them, some worked and some didn’t- I had assumed they wouldn’t download if they weren’t active as part of my package.
Searching for this problem online, there seem to be multiple ways that users have offloaded the inactive stuff with either Steinberg download manager or Steinberg activation manager, but I don’t understand how they did it..
The download assistant only seems to list cubase and dorico as my products, so all of the inactive stuff came from the all products list- but there is nothing that I can see which explains which ones come with 15 pro-
The activation manager is even worse- it only lists cubase and dorico- I don’t even see the vsts, instruments. loops etc.
So would greatly appreciate help figuring out what is what and the best way to remove all of the unusable stuff.
so I downloaded lots of stuff in the all products, (separate licenses required) section and some of them work when I use them and some of them tell me that they aren’t registered- the popup window offers to recheck registration and then it comes back and says the product isn’t registered.
Ok, Ive found a work around in case anyone else hits this wall- When I open these packs in hallion, the presets are redded out so I know they don’t work - So then I go to the Library manager and remove that pack- haven’t rebooted yet to see if it works-
if you are on Windows you can simply deinstall Steinberg applications under Window’s system settings (apps). And yes, the Library Manager is the easiest way to remove unlicensed libraries from your system
A FYI: The Cubase 15 Pro education version is identical to the regular version with regard to content

There is the problem. You assumed that Steinberg’s customer account product management would make sense intuitively. It does not.
They make everything available, you keep track of what you can use on a piece of paper.
Make sure you keep all of your Access Codes. Especially if you don’t authorize updates right away. They’re no where to be found in your account history.

The big issue is figuring out which ones I should have and not-
As mentioned- I simply tried to run each pack- Some work, some don’t but how would I know which I can download and which need to be removed?
Is there really no way to tell in advance which ones will work? I just spent an hour on hallion and realized there are many, many more downloads ranging from loops to other instruments-
If you take a look at Steve’s screenshot you’ll see the tab “My products”. Click on that tab and you’ĺl only see licensed products. If you click on Ckbase 15 Pro you’ll notice additional tabs open up on the right side (e.v. Tools). Everything that’s listed here is also part of Cubase 15 pro.
If you really downloaded aĺl kind of unlicensed stuff it might be easier to deinstall everything and consider a fresh start. It shouldn’t take longer than an hour to install everything from scratch.
