Where can I find the Transpose Track function for Midi tracks?
Do you want to transpose a MIDI track, or do you want to use a Transpose Track?
[1] Select the parts of the track to be transposed and open menu MIDI > Transpose Setup…
This directly changes the pitch of the MIDI events stored in the track.
[2] As mentioned, alternatively you can add a Transpose Track or set a transposition value in the Info Line [edit] or use a MIDI Modifier from the track [/edit].
This will just transpose during playback but not alter the stored pitch.
Or use a MIDI Modifier from the track. It depends on what exactly @Demious wants to do.
No Transpose Track. I need to write guitar and base parts so they will convert properly to tabs, which sound a drop-tuning lower than the notes written.
This function, but then in Cubase:
That’s probably it then.
If you intend to use the Score Editor for this, it supports transposing instruments like clarinets. So you can leave the MIDI where it belongs and have the Score make the adjustment. Personally I’d probably do what @ggmanestraki suggests and use Track Versions to keep both the original & transposed versions.

I’ve been looking for this, even with the step by step guide in the manual, but I get stuck in the Inspector, because there is no Midi Modifier section. I searched the manual, but I cant find anything about making this option visible.
@ raino
This sounds like when I program an E on the Piano Roll, the Score Editor adjusts is to a different tuning, but when I play the song, I still hear an E. I’ve been looking in the manual, but I guess I didnt hit the correct key words to find anything about it.
Assuming you are looking at an Instrument or MIDI Track, that just means that section isn’t set to be visible. Right+Click on an empty space in the Inspector to setup what is & isn’t displayed.
FYI, this is common throughout Cubase that there are more items to potentially display than available space. So if something seems missing try Right+Clicking on an empty space.
Ah, yes! I got it.
I recently cross-graded and I’m still getting used to how many of those visibility menus there are.
Thanks!
