How to Tremolo 2 notes in 3/4?

Hi,
I’m trying to tremolo these 2 notes in 3/4, but it’s not working as intended. How do I do this properly?

You need to force duration the 2nd note to a dotted crotchet. (Select the G then press 5 o 6.)

Using Force Duration, enter both notes as dotted quarters.
Select them both and press shift-R \ 2 Enter.

In Engraving Options, you can change the appearance of the tremolo.

In order to show multi-note tremolos, both notes need to be notated using a single notehead and have the same duration; you can’t show multi-note tremolos between notes where at least one is displayed as a tie chain.

Why?
I mean, since Dorico thinks in events with a certain pitch and duration and only later decides how things need to be rendered, I would certainly expect that to generate a multi-note tremolo, the two connected things would of course need to have the same length. The way Dorico displays any of the two notes currently should not be a requirement at this point.

Because that’s just the way it is, currently.
